The video below shows Tennessee officials demolishing a bridge over I-65 last weekend. The demolition decision was taken after a gasoline tanker ran into the bridge on August 15th and exploded.
The gasoline tanker explosion and subsequent fire not only destroyed an existing bridge over the interstate, but also destroyed a new bridge still under construction. The old bridge was removed immediately following the accident but officials waited until this past weekend to demolish the new bridge. The new bridge was one of two bridges being built for a $46 million widening project. The project was scheduled to be completed in 2016. Check out the video from TDOTNews of the implosion below!
