A strong earthquake shook New Delhi, the capital of India, on October 3. The quake follows the consecutive tremors in Nepal. The National Centre for Seismology reported that an earthquake occurred at 2:25pm IST while a second 5.2-magnitude event struck Arunachal Pradesh at approximately 3:27pm IST.
Some minutes later, a 3.3-magnitude incident was reported in Uttarakhand. The epicenter was located to the southeast of the state, a region in northern India that is intersected by the Himalayas. The earthquake’s duration was equal to 30sec and caused panic among the local residents.
This event coincided with a prediction made by Dutch scientists that forecast the earthquake in Pakistan. The Solar System Geometry Survey (SSGEOS), issued an alert on October 1, indicating that Pakistan would experience an earthquake within the following 48 hours. The organization's expertise lies in monitoring variations in electric charge in the atmosphere at sea level, which can serve as indicators of prone to earthquakes areas.
Furthermore, a Dutch scientist, affiliated with SSGEOS, noted a significant electric activity along the Chaman fault lines in Pakistan. The latter suggested the likelihood of a powerful earthquake occurring within the next 48 hours. It should be noted that the Dutch scientist, Frank Hoogerbeets, is known for his accurate earthquake predictions, and he previously anticipated the catastrophic Turkey earthquake.
