The 15th International Workshop on Structural Health Monitoring (IWSHM) will be held on September 9-11, 2025, at Stanford University, CA. We are planning for an in-person meeting, but some special virtual sessions may be created for those who could not attend in person. IWSHM remains committed to providing a forum for information sharing, collaboration, and advancing research vital to our community.
The rapid growth in AI-related technologies and increasing demands for safety and sustainability have driven industries toward greater autonomy and mobility, with focus on renewable energy and efficiency. These trends would lead to greater demands on structural health conditions to ensure safety and autonomy, particularly for aerospace, heavy machinery, and civil infrastructures. Therefore, the guiding theme of the 2025 IWSHM is "SHM: Ensuring Mobility and Autonomy with Sustainability.” Papers related to the Integration of SHM with condition-based maintenance and operational performance for enhancing mobility, autonomy, and sustainability are highly appreciated. The workshop features reviews of SHM growth over the last two decades and examines opportunities for future SHM research and applications. The biennial workshop aims to assess the current state-of-the-art technologies and to identify key breakthroughs and emerging R&D challenges that are critical to structural health monitoring. The workshop is also intended to promote communication exchange and cross-fertilization between multiple platforms.
Technical presentations will be made by invited and selected distinguished speakers, and plenary discussions on the future directions and “road-map” will be organized. Potential applications of the techniques to military and civil structures will be discussed. An exhibition area will be available for product and technology demonstrations.
